Dr Sherilyn MacGregor

Dr Sherilyn MacGregor

Sherilyn MacGregor is a lecturer in environmental politics within the School of Politics, International Relations and Philosophy at Keele University. She has a PhD in environmental studies from York University (Toronto) and an MA in urban planning from Queen's University (Kingston, Ontario).

She was a previously a p/t lecturer at the University of Wisconsin, and a Research Associate in the Institute for Health Research at Lancaster University on an ESRC-funded project examining voluntary activism and governance in the areas of mental health and community safety. As a co-founder of Director of PublicSpace, she worked on the UK CoRWM public consultation and co-wrote a booklet/website on environmental citizenship (funded by ESRC and Open University).

Her areas of research expertise are citizenship, sustainable development, and issues of environmental and gender justice. She has research training and first-hand experience of participatory research and public engagement, and is involved in the theoretical issues and debates.

She is a member of the Royal Geographical Society and the Political Studies Association.
